Re: 3082

Hi, Ashwini,

We were up to date with all but the last two notes before we created and submitted the XML file. (The last two notes dealing with the corrections are not in PROD yet.)

Today we spent considerable time reviewing TIN Validation Failures. Most of the errors are due to employees who have multiple last names, or a last name and a suffix. For example:

  • SAP last name = St John (XML file only shows John)
  • SAP last name = Smith Jr (XML file only shows Jr)
  • SAP last name = Jones III (XML file only shows III)
  • SAP last name = Vander Haggen (XML file only shows Haggen)
  • SAP last name = Ruiz Rodriguez (XML file only shows Rodriguez)

Basically, if there was a space in the last name field, only the name or number after the space was placed in the XML file. We also have a few names that are not obviously wrong, but we will contact the employees to confirm if there was a name change.

Margaret (or others on this thread),

Did we miss something? Certainly suffixes should not have been entered in the last name field, but in the cases where the employee has two last names or a space in their last name, the XML file is still only picking up part of their name. In those cases PA0002 is correct, but the XML file is wrong - so how do we fix it?

Thanks,

Debbie B
