So you have a choice - long term support with 1.28 on UI Add-On 1.0; or all the latest goodies (new FLP, OVP, smart controls, support for latest Fiori apps), and optimised coding style of 1.3x on UI Add-On 2.0.
For an Enterprise Geek like me, it seems like a no brainer if you're about to upgrade your Fiori/Gateway server anyway.
But then you look at the following website:

And suddenly you realise that if you upgrade to 1.34 that the end of support for this is Q2/2016 - e.g. Any day now potentially up to June 30! It's kind of a gotcha if you just look at PAM and see that UI Add-On 2.0 is supported till 2020 since they've now added you need to do support packages to stay supported.
Looking further you find that SP3 is available for UI Add-On 2.0 - but since 1.34 was released this year, you not really guaranteed of getting longer support than a few months anyway.
I believe 1.38 will be the next stable/long term release from memory, but as that's not available yet; I'm guessing this all means you need to be very comfortable with doing UI Add-on support pack updates and associated regression testing of all your Fiori apps, the Fiori Launchpad, Personas testing, and whatever else gets thrown into the exciting UI Add-On!
So I'm just trying to understand if this is the expectation if you jump on the Innovation release? That you may need to do support packs every 3 months on your Fiori/Gateway server? And that SAP believe this is a simple update for customers?
I still think SAP need to deliver updates to UI5 via import and get away from this whole support package requirement for minor versions, especially since things have started to settle in the foundation of UI5 these days.
